The Cardiac Electrophysiology Department at Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah, part of Emirates Health Services, has successfully performed the first procedure to treat cardiac arrhythmias using «Volt Pulsed-Field Ablation (PFA)», one of the world's most advanced technologies for treating atrial fibrillation. The procedure was carried out on a 60-year-old Emirati patient. The patient, who suffers from recurrent episodes of atrial fibrillation, experienced rapid and irregular heartbeat, sometimes accompanied by fatigue, shortness of breath, and chest discomfort. The frequency of these episodes has increased recently, negatively impacting his daily activities and quality of life, despite his adherence to the prescribed drug treatment.
