The UAE Modern Pentathlon Union organized the «Laser Run» championship (running and shooting with a laser pistol) at the Al-Bataih Sports Club in the emirate of Sharjah. The event saw wide participation from clubs including Milaha, Al-Bataih, and Kalba, along with athletes from the Union's center for gifted students at Al-Warqa School in Dubai. A total of 90 players from various age groups, ranging from under 9 to Masters over 40, took part. Dr. Hida Al-Mutairi, President of the UAE Modern Pentathlon Union, stated that «hosting the 'Laser Run' championship by Al-Bataih Sports Club is a significant step in promoting the sport at the club level. She praised the excellent organization and fruitful cooperation that contributed to the event's success, reflecting the development of modern pentathlon in the country». She added that the wide participation across different age groups reflects growing interest in the sport and clubs' commitment to providing a competitive environment that sharpens players' skills. Al-Mutairi also commended the positive engagement of Kalba and Milaha clubs, noting that this presence enhances opportunities for interaction and experience-sharing, raising the overall technical level. She emphasized that the Union will continue to organize more championships in the near future to discover new talents and solidify the position of 'Laser Run' within the country's sports activities. In turn, Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Bataih Club, expressed pride in hosting such events that support modern and community sports. He confirmed that the championship served as a vital platform for discovering talent, motivating participants to develop their abilities, and fostering a spirit of positive competition among athletes.
