The importance of joint work of various interested parties in achieving set goals was emphasized by the Deputy Minister of Energy and the oil and gas complex of Sharif Al-Ulaimi. He noted the necessity of adopting innovative solutions to reduce energy consumption and increase the efficiency of data processing centers.

Within the framework of the strategic orientations of the state's digital transformation and strengthening sustainability in the energy sector, the formation of a national team to study the impacts of data processing centers in the energy sector was made with the goal of developing policies and regulatory measures that support the sustainability of the sector and ensure the preservation of the competitiveness of the OAED in the field of digital infrastructure.

At the first meeting of the national team studying the impacts of data processing centers in the energy sector, various projects and initiatives related to the development of the sector of data processing centers and their impact on the energy sector of the country were discussed. On the agenda, challenges faced by data processing centers were also addressed, as well as ways to enhance their sustainability, and the importance of implementing best global practices to ensure the effective and sustainable operation of data processing centers.

The team's goal is to analyze and study the effects of data processing centers on the energy sector and the growing demand for them, assess the local market and economic influence, examine the expected impact from this vitally important sector, and inventory all data processing centers in the country, classifying them according to specific standards for strengthening the competitiveness of the OAED in this area. Additionally, there are plans to conduct geographical research on the current and future distribution of data processing centers in the country to ensure an improved distribution of infrastructure, as well as a comparative analysis of global best practices in the field of data processing centers and the development of federal policy aimed at regulating their operations in the country.
