The number of registered trademarks in the country increased by 10% in 2024 compared to 2023, when 30,780 trademarks were registered. According to the report, the number of registered trademarks in the country was 5,681 in the year 2000. Then it grew to 13,503 in 2010, further increasing to 18,686 in 2019. Subsequently, the number of trademarks continued to grow, reaching 25,432 in 2021, then 27,015 in 2022, 30,780 in 2023, and 33,874 in the previous year.
The Ministry of Economy reported that by the end of 2024, more than 33,874 trademarks would be registered in the OAE, which would be the highest level in the entire history of the country. This reflects a record growth achieved in the economy of the OAE across various economic, commercial, and financial sectors for more than 30 years, as well as a significant and stable growth attracting the OAE as a leading regional and international center for investment and trade.
The report on registered trademarks (1993-2024), published yesterday by the ministry, indicated that the number of registered trademarks in the country grew by 711% over more than 30 years, reaching 33,874 trademarks by the end of 2024, compared to 1993 when there were only 4,175 registered trademarks.
