Significant Increase in Flight Ticket Prices for Eid Holidays

Flight ticket prices have surged by over 100% for direct flights from the UAE to various Arab destinations during the Eid Al-Fitr holidays. The rise is attributed to the increased demand coinciding with school breaks and the holiday.

Significant Increase in Flight Ticket Prices for Eid Holidays

The price for airline tickets has increased by 100% for direct flights from the UAE to Arab countries, such as Amman, Cairo, Beirut, Alexandria, Kasablanka, and Tunis, in connection with the upcoming holiday of Eid al-Fitr. This data was obtained according to the information from online booking sites of airlines.

Representatives from two tourism companies confirmed that the crossing of the school holidays with the Eid al-Fitr holiday increased the demand for airline tickets to Arab countries among residents of the UAE who are planning to visit their relatives during this event. Some airlines were forced to launch additional flights to meet the demand.

According to these search systems, ticket prices for direct flights from the UAE in the indicated directions have significantly increased for the period from the end of March to the beginning of April compared to the prices for the same flights available for booking in January this year.

Beirut experienced the largest price increase, with an average ticket price around 4500 dirhams, while in Amman, the price reached 2800 dirhams. In Cairo, it was more than 3500 dirhams, in Alexandria - about 2700 dirhams. For the direction to Kasablanka, the price rose to approximately 5500 dirhams, and in Tunis - up to 5000 dirhams.

Prices apply only to direct flights there and back, and, as a rule, they are preliminary prices, confirmed availability and the lowest ones. They differ from the prices for more flexible tickets offering additional privileges, such as the option to change without penalties and other privileges.

Regarding the situation in the market, the General Director of the tourism agency "Fasil for Travel and Tourism" noted the increased demand for popular Arab destinations during the holiday of Eid al-Fitr. He added that passenger traffic remains at high levels during this period, especially at the end of March and the first week of April.

Experts predict full occupancy of many flights in the coming days due to the increasing demand day by day. Some airlines have been forced to add additional flights to meet the demand, as flights returning after the holiday and school holidays also experience high pressure.

It is also noted that the director of the Dubay Link group stated that during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, people are trying to travel both within the country and beyond its borders. The demand for airline tickets from the UAE to Arab countries has significantly increased, and he recommends booking tickets in advance to avoid rising prices, especially at the last moments. He warned that prices for the latest bookings are expected to increase by more than 100% compared to earlier bookings.
