
The exhibition and conference organization sector in the UAE continues to strengthen its reputation as the main catalyst for economic growth and a key stimulant for the strategic goals of creating a diverse economy, relying on knowledge and a corresponding vision of the country's strategy for achieving sustainable economic development. This strategic sector is experiencing steady development in terms of organization and the holding of large international events, thanks to advanced infrastructure and modern equipment of exhibition and conference centers, as well as due to national personnel and international experience, contributing to strengthening the country's position as a regional and global center for organizing major events and exhibitions.
According to information from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, the "Aldanick" group made a direct economic contribution to the national GDP in the amount of 8.5 billion dirhams in 2024, compared to 7.4 billion dirhams in 2023, which indicates a consistent growth in the industry and the impact of organized events. In addition, the company's events attracted more than 5.4 million visitors, which became an absolute record for the group.
"Capital Events", the organizational subsidiary of the group, signed deals for a total of 10 billion dirhams during the exhibitions, and the group received about 1.531 million guests, providing more than 40 million served dishes on 45 venues and organized about 2200 events, including the largest joint banquet for about 8000 guests.
In Dubai, the World Trade Center contributed exceptional economic indicators for 2024, increasing the number of large events by 32% compared to the previous year, which led to the adoption of over a million visitors and the creation of a general economic effect of 22.35 billion dirhams.
At the same time, the first phase of the expansion of the Dubai International Exhibition Center began, planned for completion in 2026, as part of a strategic initiative to enhance its capabilities to host major international events and solidify its role as a key economic center for innovation and sustainable growth.
In Sharjah, "Expo Sharjah" continues to promote efforts to support the exhibition organization sector in the country, contributing to the development of economic, social, cultural, and educational spheres, aligned with the goals of sustainable development. Plans for 2025 include holding quality events and exhibitions in key sectors, such as manufacturing, smart transport systems, trade, health, perfumery, and jewelry products.
Achievements reached in 2024 are highlighted by 80 leading exhibitions with a 60% increase compared to 2023, with a broad participation of major companies and trade brands, attracting about 3 million visitors from the country and beyond.
