UAE Participates in World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings in Washington

The United Arab Emirates is participating in the Spring Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, held in the US capital Washington from April 13-18, 2026. The country's delegation is headed by Mohammed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, and includes a number of government leaders. These meetings aim to discuss a range of global economic priorities, including global economic growth prospects, financial stability, enhancing financial sustainability, as well as issues of development finance and challenges related to the global economy. Mohammed bin Hadi Al Hussaini affirmed that the UAE's participation in these meetings reflects its approach based on actively contributing to international efforts to enhance economic stability, noting that the current phase requires intensifying joint work to face global economic and financial challenges and build a more flexible and sustainable financial system. He added that the country continues its pivotal role in supporting initiatives that promote inclusive economic growth by adopting balanced fiscal policies and developing innovative financing tools, which contributes to stimulating economic development at both regional and international levels. The UAE's participation focuses on expanding strategic partnerships with international financial institutions and exploring new cooperation opportunities, which enhances the country's position as a global financial center and supports efforts to achieve sustainable development and economic prosperity. The Ministry's delegation's program includes a series of multilateral events, including the G20, BRICS, the International Monetary and Financial Committee, and a meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan with the Managing Director of the IMF. Participation also includes a number of bilateral meetings with international partners and representatives of global financial institutions, as well as taking part in side events, including a dialogue session titled 'Zeroing Bureaucracy,' in addition to signing an agreement for the World Bank's Explorer Program.
