Consumer Price Index Climbs in UAE

Record high prices for consumer goods were recorded in the United Arab Emirates in August 2024. According to official data, the consumer price index increased by 2.5% in August compared to July. The main factors contributing to the price increase were higher costs of production, transportation services, and rental housing.

Experts note that the increase in inflation in the country is linked to various factors, including international economic processes, fluctuations in currency exchange rates, and changes in global markets. However, the authorities are already adopting measures to stabilize the situation and prevent further price increases.

"While the rise in prices poses certain risks, the government is striving to contain inflation and ensure economic stability in the country," noted economist Mohamad Ali.
