Mohammed bin Rashid Library Chairman: Reading is an Act of Transformation

Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library, affirmed that «reading, in its essence, is an act of transformation that begins with a page read, an idea that blossoms, and a mind that questions, ultimately leading to a comprehensive renaissance that drives all aspects of life». He added on the occasion of the National Reading Month in the United Arab Emirates: «Drawing from this deep-seated belief, the wise leadership established the National Reading Month as a national platform to enhance the culture of knowledge, and to instill in individuals and society the value of science as a tool for thinking, innovation, and shaping the future in line with the national strategies for the next fifty years, as embodied in the 'We Are the UAE 2031' vision». Mohammed Al-Mur also noted that the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library will continue to play its vital role in translating this vision into a tangible reality by expanding its service ecosystem to include renewable digital and physical collections, spaces that stimulate thought and inspire creativity, and cultural programs designed to transform reading from a personal hobby into a deeply rooted community practice. He continued: «At the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library, we do not build bookshelves; we build a generation that reads to lead, questions to innovate, and learns to contribute to the journey of a nation that places science at the forefront of its priorities for the next fifty years. Through these efforts, we strive to transform the reading experience into an act of life that enriches creativity, fuels critical thinking, and enables all segments of society to actively participate in the journey of knowledge and enlightenment».
