UAE's Happiness and Wellbeing Initiatives

The UAE implements programs to enhance happiness and well-being, integrating them into government policy, workplace culture, and daily life.

UAE's Happiness and Wellbeing Initiatives

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is actively implementing initiatives to enhance happiness and well-being for its residents. These strategies focus on fostering a positive workplace culture, boosting employee morale, and increasing engagement, all while ensuring high-quality, people-centered services.

Launched in 2016, the National Programme for Happiness and Wellbeing makes happiness measurable and actionable across government services, workplaces, and communities. It integrates happiness into policies and programs, promotes a healthy lifestyle, and tracks satisfaction through surveys and indexes. Employees have access to interactive sessions, online courses, and guidance from experts to apply best practices.

The UAE also introduced a Guide to Happiness and Well-Being at Workplace to help organizations create supportive, engaging, and productive environments. Key initiatives include appointing Chief Happiness & Wellbeing Officers, launching the Customer Happiness Formula for public services, forming Happiness and Wellbeing Councils, and creating platforms like Friends of Happiness to engage the community.

The Wellbeing Academy is a virtual learning platform for government employees, offering specialized training in happiness science, mindfulness, leading happy teams, and measuring impact.

The government is dedicated to improving life for everyone. For many overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families, the UAE has become a second home. In March 2025, the country ranked 21st in the World Happiness Report, a testament to its commitment to creating a thriving, emotionally resilient society.
