The current chairmanship of the Council for Metrology, belonging to the Institute of Standards and Metrology for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (SMIIC), has won the election for the period 2025-2027 during the meetings held in Istanbul. The Emirates were elected as members of the Management Council, the Standardization Council, and the Accreditation Council at the 19th General Assembly of the Institute of Standards and Metrology for the Islamic world.
This is already the third consecutive win for high-quality infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, after the country became a member of the Global Management Council of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the Global Management Council of the International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC) in the past two months. This supports the strategic goals of the United Arab Emirates and their role as a leader in the field of innovation in the Middle East.
