IATA Releases Global Air Cargo Trends

In 2022, it was clarified that the air transport industry has significantly recovered from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, witnessing an increase in demand for air freight services.

According to IATA statistics, global air freight activity rose by more than 10% in January 2022 compared to the same period last year.

IATA stated that this increase reflects the sector's recovery from the pandemic's repercussions, indicating that the rise in demand for air freight was due to increased demand for consumer goods, electronics, textiles, and medical supplies.

In this context, the Director General of the International Air Transport Association, Alexandre de Juniac, stated: "The continued growth of air freight reflects the rising demand for goods across international borders, which is a positive trend for the global economy."
