As a result of visits to several major retailers and various points of sale, it was noted that a wide range of locally produced products are presented as important, both needed and unnecessary products, such as frozen and chilled poultry meat, milk, flour, sugar, dairy products, yogurt, cheese, frozen vegetables, frozen chicken cuts, rice, pasta, oils, juices, carbonated drinks, dates, spices, candies, chocolate, and also some types of vegetables and fruits, paper towels, cleaning agents, disinfectants, garbage bags, and air fresheners.
Representatives of various retail sectors noted that in May, a major campaign was launched to support local products, including various discounts on a wide range of these products. They also highlighted that an increase in the offerings of local products and the display of labels with the inscription "Made in UAE" is aimed at raising consumer awareness about the quality and competitiveness of local production.
Abdullah Al-Naimi, a consumer, noted that many large stores in the country have started to offer a larger number of locally produced products, such as milk, cheese, rice, pasta, oils, juices, and others. He expressed satisfaction with such changes and called for expanding discounts on a larger quantity of local products.
Ihsan Ali also noted that some large stores significantly increased the assortment of locally produced goods, using displays and labels "Made in UAE" to attract consumer attention. She expressed support for the expansion of discounts on a larger amount of high-quality local products.
At the same time, a representative of the Lulu store chain confirmed that the company has started a broad campaign to support local products, aiming to promote production, which is a result of local manufacturing. They have begun to offer discounts on a wide range of these products as part of the strategy to support local production, according to the country's policy on stimulating national production.
The store manager emphasized that chains of various retail outlets are actively supporting local production, especially for the products that received the Emirati quality mark. He noted that many stores have begun to expand the assortment of local products and will continue to offer discounts on them in the future.
