A sharp 25% increase in European countries' LNG purchases was one of the year's standout features, boosting exporters' hopes for continued consumption growth in major economies like Germany, Italy, and the UK through 2026 and beyond. The year 2025 will be remembered in LNG industry history for shattering records in production and export of this super-chilled fuel, generating billions in revenue across the global supply chain. Conversely, however, import declines in three of the world's top five LNG-importing countries, all in Asia, have raised serious profit concerns, especially among exporters who are banking on this trend.
