UAE and Uzbekistan Strengthen Economic Cooperation

UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri confirmed growing economic and investment ties with Uzbekistan. During a meeting with the Uzbek delegation, both sides discussed priority sectors for cooperation, including tourism, technology, and energy. The number of tourists from Uzbekistan to the UAE grew by 25%, and over 2,300 Uzbek companies operate in the Emirati market.

Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, confirmed that the UAE and Uzbekistan have growing economic and investment relations, in line with the wise leadership of the two friendly countries, which reflects the commitment of both sides to enhance bilateral cooperation frameworks and expand partnership areas in sectors of common interest. Bin Touq Al Marri stated during his reception of a high-level Uzbek delegation that the UAE is keen to continue strengthening its economic and investment ties with Uzbekistan and drive them towards further growth and development, supporting economic growth trajectories and meeting the aspirations of both nations, especially with over 2,300 Uzbek companies currently operating in the UAE markets. He noted that the meeting marks a new step towards exploring promising economic opportunities in the two countries' markets, seeking ways to benefit from them, and transforming them into practical partnerships and joint projects that contribute to enhancing economic cooperation and increasing the flow of mutual investments. The Ministry stated in a statement yesterday that both sides discussed ways to enhance economic and investment relations between the UAE and Uzbekistan in the coming period, especially in priority sectors, including the new economy, tourism, aviation, financial technology, transport, renewable energy, agriculture, food security, logistics, energy, industry, infrastructure, and banking. Tourism cooperation between the two countries has witnessed remarkable growth, as the number of Uzbek tourists to the UAE increased from 57,575 in 2024 to 71,969 in 2025, a growth rate of about 25%. The UAE side presented a number of economic policies and measures taken to enhance the business environment and the economy, continue economic openness to the world, and establish fruitful economic partnerships with key regional and international markets. It also reviewed efforts to enhance the attractiveness of the UAE market for projects and companies of the new economy and support the competitiveness of the legislative environment, which has strengthened the UAE's position as a leading regional and global center for business and investment. The meeting also addressed the economic facilitation packages and new measures recently announced by the UAE to support the business and investment sector in light of current economic and geopolitical changes, including supporting corporate financial liquidity, easing operational burdens, and enhancing customs facilities. This aims to empower the private sector, enhance the stability and continuity of economic activities, and open wider avenues for Uzbek business partners to benefit from the flexible and stimulating business environment in the UAE.
