The International Auditors Association of Europe confirmed that the economic losses of the Middle Ages from extreme weather events in the European Union amount to 26 billion euros.
According to the representatives of the International Auditors Association, phenomena such as floods, droughts, forest fires, and other disasters are becoming increasingly frequent and intense in relation to climate change. Their impact on the economy significantly exceeds simple material losses.
"Extreme weather conditions not only inflict damage on specific sectors but also demonstrate a negative impact on overall economic stability and the well-being of citizens," the experts emphasized.
They drew attention to the need to adopt urgent measures for adaptation to the changing climate and to mitigate the consequences of extreme weather phenomena.
