
In honor of the legendary poet from O.A.E., Sultan Al-Auys, events dedicated to his 100th anniversary began with a grand musical concert in "Dubai Opera" under the title "Melody in Dubai", organized by the cultural foundation Sultan bin Ali Al-Auys. Under the patronage and in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Head of Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs, prominent figures participated in the event including Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al-Qasimi, Minister of Culture, and Minister of Health and Community Protection Abdurrahman bin Mohammed Al-Auys, along with members of the Foundation's advisory council and representatives from the community.
The head of the Foundation's advisory council, Sultan bin Ali Al-Auys, Dr. Suleyman Musa Al-Djasim, expressed in his speech at the event: "We are proud of your participation in this orchestral concert, from which events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Sultan Al-Auys begin, this poet who never spared efforts, finances, and time for supporting culture and intellect, dedicating his life to serving thought and creativity".
Then, Al-Djasim added: "This meeting acquires special significance thanks to the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the leader of the Emirati diplomacy, a supporter of thought, culture, and art, a symbol of strengthening the Emirati identity on various platforms".
He also emphasized that this concert is not just a musical event, but a message reflecting the depth of connections between different forms of art, showing how creativity can be a bridge for dialogue and communication between cultures.
The event was opened by a symphonic orchestra, which united over 60 musicians and vocalists under the direction of maestro Mohammed Al-Kahum, performing traditional Arab melodies and songs based on the poems of Sultan Al-Auys.
The orchestra also represented the diversity of Arab musical traditions in a modern style, while the audience, under the musical accompaniment, remembered songs associated with the cultural heritage of the region.
Upon the conclusion of the concert, Dr. Suleyman Musa Al-Djasim presented maestro Mohammed Al-Kahum and his orchestra with a commemorative shield from the Al-Auys Foundation and expressed gratitude for their artistic performance, wishing them success in preserving their creative identity enriched by the cultural energy of musical compositions.
