Exploring Dreams at Sikka Festival in Dubai

As part of the design and art festival "Sikka" in Dubai, an installation was presented in a house styled with Moroccan architectural heritage, where three different dreams, which come from moss, were illustrated by artists, transforming everyday elements of life into mystical surreal forms.

The organizers invited artists from various countries of the Persian Gulf to showcase an unusual and possibly distorted world through various artistic means. Commenting on the exhibition, curator Yara Aib noted that each corner of the house carries a picture of the silhouette of modernity. She also mentioned that traditional representations of silhouettes have been reinterpreted through the creativity of artists from Oman, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain.

The rooms, represented by the artists, are interconnected with details from the moss in the first room, moving towards the silhouettes with the use of artificial intelligence in the second room and concluding with images of her grandmother in conditions unusual for her in the third room.

Art artist from Emirates Latifa Al Oudi created an image between dreams and reality, depicting green carpets as a symbol of dreams and the carpet as a mundane work and problem. She used sand with water and artificial grass to represent her creation. Her work occupied the entire week.

Other festival participants, such as Maryam Al Obeidi and Maya Alissa, also demonstrated their works, reflecting the heritage and culture of the UAE and narrating about childhood and how childhood events can inspire creativity.
