Workshop on Arabic Calligraphy in Dubai

Mohammed bin Rashid Library hosted a calligraphy workshop to celebrate and preserve Arabic calligraphy. Participants learned about its history and practiced writing.

The event, held by Mukhammed bin Rashid, in partnership with "Zakhraf al-Funun", focused on Islamic and Arabic calligraphic art and attracted many enthusiasts. Participants appreciated the organization of the event and highlighted the important role of the Mukhammed bin Rashid Library in promoting culture and supporting interest in art and literature, including Arabic calligraphy, as an important part of cultural and artistic identity.

During the two-day masterclass by Mukhammed bin Rashid and "Zakhraf al-Funun", a review of the history of Arabic calligraphy was presented, the main schools, and the most prominent figures of Arabic calligraphy, as well as principles of writing in the style of ruk'ah, revealing its beauty and unique compositions. The practical part allowed participants to try their abilities in this art, contributing to the development of skills and a deeper understanding of the beauty and structure of calligraphy.

Since its establishment, the Mukhammed bin Rashid Library has given special attention to Arabic calligraphy, considering it an integral part of Arab and Islamic cultural identity. To support and preserve this ancient heritage, it has developed a comprehensive workshop program and events designed to spread the aesthetics of calligraphy and increase interest in it.
