The National Archives and Library organized a virtual lecture titled 'Historical Approaches to Writing the History of the Family in the Trucial States (1860-1960)', coinciding with the 'Year of the Family'. The event aims to highlight the importance of documenting family history as a scientific key to understanding the roots of Emirati society and enhancing the values of belonging and connection between generations. The lecture was delivered by historian, translator, and assistant professor at the United Arab Emirates University, Dr. Ahmed Yaqoub Al-Mazimi, who reviewed how the daily stories of families can be transformed into solid scientific material that links private memory with national history and contributes to building a comprehensive narrative of the community's life.
