Joby Aviation Launches First Air Taxi Hub in Dubai

Joby Aviation has initiated construction on its first vertical airport for air taxis at Dubai International Airport, marking a significant advancement in electric air transportation.


Joby Aviation, a company specializing in the development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for commercial passenger transportation, has announced the start of construction of the first vertiport in its network in Dubai. This airport is located at Dubai International Airport and is being constructed by Joby in partnership with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority and Skyports. Notable attendees at the event included Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of Dubai, Matar Al Tayer, General Director of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, and Jo Hutton, founder and General Director of Joby, as well as representatives of Skyports.

This vertiport will be the first of its kind and will be used to serve Joby Aviation's electric air taxis in Dubai. It marks a new milestone in the development of air mobility infrastructure and opens new opportunities for passenger transport in the city.
