Imitation jewelry, especially rings, often leaves unsightly blue stains on the skin after being worn. This can be prevented by a simple trick: apply a layer of clear nail polish to the inside of the ring, then let the nail polish dry completely. The nail polish forms a barrier between the skin and the metal, preventing stains from forming. The clear nail polish should be reapplied regularly, as it will fade over time.
