
Under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the first deputy ruler of Dubai, vice chairman and minister of finance of the UAE, as well as chairman of the Dubai Judicial Council, a meeting of the Council was held. During the meeting, the appointments of new judges in Dubai courts were approved, and a plan for the preparation and development for 2025 was outlined for members of the judicial authority, emphasizing his commitment to ensure judges and prosecutors, especially young specialists, possess the knowledge and skills necessary for successful activity in this important area, playing a key role in social progress and stability.
During the meeting, procedures for extending the terms of service of members of the judicial bodies who have reached retirement age were also approved, so that the judicial system can benefit from their experience and preserve outstanding talent.
The meeting also discussed the statistical report presented by the General Secretary of the Judicial Council, highlighting progress made since the moment of its restructuring in 2021.
Dr. Abdalla Saif Al-Sabousi also expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Maktoum for his unprecedented support, as well as the council members for their ongoing cooperation with the General Secretary. Attending the meeting were His Excellency Mohamad Ibrahim Al Shaybani, the General Director of the Ruler's Court of Dubai and vice president of the Dubai Judicial Council; His Excellency Essam Issa Al Humaidan, the General Prosecutor of Dubai; His Excellency Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, the General Director of Dubai Courts; Dr. Abdalla Saif Al-Sabousi, the General Secretary of the Dubai Judicial Council, and members of the Dubai Judicial Council.
Additionally, over the past four years, 223 investigations have been conducted covering scientific, legislative, and developing areas. Following this, the Council has approved an increase of 86% in laws pertaining to the judiciary and its participants, compared to the previous four years, which has led to full legislative coherence.
