The United Kingdom and France will lead talks involving around thirty countries this week aimed at forming a coalition to ensure the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has closed since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East, British media reported on Wednesday. The Times, for its part, mentioned that the United Kingdom has offered to host a subsequent summit in Portsmouth or London to agree on details and establish the coalition that will oversee the reopening of the strait. The Guardian, citing an official from the Ministry of Defense, reported that a meeting of chiefs of staff will be held later this week, with the source saying: "I expect that at some point in the near future, some kind of security conference regarding the Strait of Hormuz will be held."
