Within the framework of "Carnival of Fighting in Dubai," the second most significant event took place - the evening of "Fashion Friday."
The event was attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, who opened the competitions "Path of Champions in Dubai." These competitions were held at the Coca-Cola arena in Dubai and were organized by the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in collaboration with the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai and the Dubai Sports Council.
He observed the clashes of world-class fighters along with the Minister of Sports, Dr. Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Flasi, and the Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, Khalfan bin Flasi. The Professional Fighters League tournament was the first for the Eastern region and took place in an international format of mixed martial arts competition across various world martial arts under the name "Path to Dubai," culminating in Emirate.
Sheikh Mansour witnessed the victory of our compatriot Khadi Omar al-Husseini over Filipino Roel Panalisan in the heavyweight category. The competition gathered a large number of spectators, confirming Dubai's status as a preferred venue for hosting major international sporting events across various disciplines, providing all necessary resources for their successful execution and strengthening its leading position on the world sports arena.
The tournament included 11 bouts featuring 22 fighters from 13 countries, including the UAE, Russia, Ireland, the USA, Brazil, England, Uzbekistan, Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Algeria, and the Philippines. The Professional Fighters League features elite world champions in individual combat sports, as well as renowned sports stars. Competitions will continue in the coming years, solidifying Dubai's position as a global center for this type of sport.
