British McLaren driver Lando Norris, after securing the Formula 1 season title with a thrilling victory at the Yas Marina Circuit for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, expressed pride in making his family and fiancée happy by attending to support him. He was also named 'UK Sports Personality of the Year', beating other prominent athletes like darts champion Michael van Gerwen. Norris described his performance in the second half of the season as 'the best' and said: 'My best performance this year came when it was needed most, in the second half of the season when I had fallen behind a bit. This title is for my mom and dad, they are the ones who allowed me to pursue my dreams'.
