He entered 'St. James' Park' into his navigation and, following the instructions, ended up at a stadium in Exeter, which is 589 km from the actual venue. It turns out there are two stadiums with the same name in England: one in Newcastle, where the match was being held, and another in Exeter. When the fan showed his ticket to the staff, he realized his mistake. The stadium staff sympathized with him and gave him a free ticket to a local match. Adam Spencer from Exeter City commented on the situation: 'I think he entered the name of St. James' Park stadium into his phone and followed the directions. His English wasn't excellent, but we provided him with a ticket, and he was able to watch a match at the real St. James' Park.' The story amused many. One fan wrote: 'Perhaps the man had a great night, made new friends, and hopefully got a shirt and a great story to tell his friends back home.'
