Shabab Al-Ahli has secured a partnership with Sharjah and ascended to the top of the Professional Football League after a 2-1 victory over the champions on Sunday evening at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai in the final match of the sixth round. After a goalless first half, Sardar Azmoun scored the first goal in the 56th minute, followed by Carlos converting a penalty to double the lead in the 87th minute. Guilherme Piro scored the only goal for Sharjah in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
Shabab Al-Ahli leads the league, raising their tally to 18 points, while Sharjah occupies second place with 15 points after this defeat.
