In the history of Fujairah, a grandiose sports event was held for the first time in the history of the Arab world. The organizer was the Ministry of Sports. In the competitions, 885 athletes from different countries participated, who were professionals, and lovers.
In the professional category, palm trees first reached the finish line. At that time, no professional athletes, spectators, or the main character of the story, Obaid al-Naimi, were present. In the professional standings, the best result was the Russian athlete Elise Petrova, and in the amateur one, his compatriot Josephine. In the command event, the first place was awarded to the team named "Eve".
The head of the Federal Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Abdul bin Hamad bin Saif al-Sharqi, highly appreciated the organization of the tournament. He noted that the organizer from the Center provided the first step on the highest level and praised for the wide participation of children and schoolchildren.
The director of the Center, Amr Zeyn ad-Din, in his speech, called the championship "the first important step in the history of tournaments, which accept Fujairair". In their opinion, the situation was due to various different calls, and their uniqueness was in the participation of 27 silent athletes from all over the world, who were mixed with local athletes from the UAE.
