Enhancing Marine Services in Hatta

A delegation from the Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA), under the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, visited Hatta to oversee projects and improve licensed marine tourism activities. Leading the delegation was Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, CEO of the Dubai Maritime Authority. They focused on ensuring safety and quality in all marine activities, particularly at the 'Wadi Lim Lake' and 'Hatta Kayak' in Hatta Dam, which are unique tourism spots in Dubai and the UAE.

Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum reiterated a commitment to visitor safety and the enhancement of marine services in collaboration with relevant authorities. This is essential to strengthen Dubai's reputation as a top global tourism destination. The delegation discussed responsibilities such as managing waterways and issuing permits for marine tourism operations with H.E. Marwan Bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, to improve facilities and services in the region.

The CEO highlighted Law No.3 of 2023 about the Dubai Maritime Authority’s role in developing and regulating the maritime sector. The delegation stressed the importance of modernizing infrastructure, securing marine equipment, and complying with environmental standards and regulations to maintain the conservation of the marine environment. Joint efforts with Dubai Municipality aim to further Hatta's emergence as a favored tourist attraction.

Finishing the visit, Sheikh Saeed commended all stakeholders for their work in realizing the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to develop Hatta. Stressing the importance of coordinated efforts, he expressed gratitude for the ongoing collaboration to serve visitors and enhance facilities.
