Workshop on Public-Private Partnership Projects Held

Today, the Ministry of Finance held a seminar on partnership projects between the federal and private sectors with participation from representatives of 15 federal agencies involved in qualified cooperation projects. The seminar aimed at training the mentioned agencies in the main stages of determining and evaluating projects, qualified for partnerships, in accordance with the updated partnership guidelines recently released by the Ministry of Finance.

During the discussion, the emphasis was placed on strengthening institutional capabilities and developing the understanding of specialized teams about the effective mechanisms for implementing these projects sustainably, with a focus on sharing knowledge and experience among participants. Key successful stories were also presented, realized at local and global levels, aimed at stimulating federal agencies to adopt best practices and improve the use of available partnership opportunities between sectors.

This seminar is directed at raising awareness among federal agencies about the importance of such partnerships and effective ways of their implementation to achieve the strategic goals of the country. The support of the Ministry of Finance is aimed at ensuring the regulatory and technical frameworks that facilitate the success of such projects, through the development of institutional capabilities and the provision of necessary guidelines at every stage of implementation.

These efforts contribute to the strategies of the United Arab Emirates to enhance economic competitiveness, improve the quality of life, and develop cooperation between sectors to achieve mutual benefits for society as a whole and facilitate the expansion of a strong economy, ready to resist future changes.

As part of the seminar, a process of identifying priority projects, qualified for partnerships, is expected, where such projects will foster strengthening the economic development and infrastructure of the country. The main focus will also be on developing the competencies of specialized teams in federal agencies, providing them with knowledge and necessary instruments for preparing needed studies for effective determination, evaluation, and implementation of projects.
