Approximately 30.8% of consumers focus on buying household appliances.
"The purchasing habits of consumers in the UAE are gearing up for Ramadan, evolving year by year, with an emphasis on family and generosity," noted Martinelli. According to him, purchases during Ramadan primarily revolve around food products, kitchenware, and electronics. More than 66% of buyers on Amazon in the UAE prefer to purchase food products, kitchen accessories, dates, and beverages during Ramadan.
The provided data also shows that gifting remains an important tradition in the UAE. More than 47% of buyers express a preference for purchasing gifts, 42% buy clothing and accessories, and 38% choose personal care items. Some also prefer gifts for the whole family, highlighting the importance of family gatherings during this period.
Martinelli noted that 53.1% of consumers still place importance on convenience, 44% are attracted by prices and offers, and 33.8% seek a wide selection of products. Amazon strives to offer competitive pricing and a variety of products, as well as ensure fast and reliable delivery.
It is important to note changes in purchasing behavior during Ramadan. Most consumers in the UAE begin preparing for the holiday two to four weeks before it starts. Amazon launches its annual distribution ahead of Ramadan, offering discounts of up to 50% on food products and up to 60% on electronics, clothing, and cosmetics, as well as beneficial installment programs with no interest rates.
Stefano Martinelli emphasized that Ramadan is becoming a time of behavioral change in purchasing habits, underscoring the importance of online shopping and Amazon's social initiatives in support of those in need.
