Adnoc Distribution today launched the world's sixth-largest ultra-fast electric vehicle charging complex. The company also unveiled its future plan to establish an ultra-fast electric charging network across the UAE by the end of 2027. This launch coincides with the "Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026", where global leaders are gathering to discuss the future of sustainable energy and infrastructure. This achievement reflects Adnoc Group's commitment to shaping sustainable energy solutions by leveraging intelligence and innovation to maximize positive impact for today and the future. The massive "Electric Vehicle Charging Complex" is located in the Seih Shuayb area on the Emirates Road (E11) between the emirates of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It features 60 ultra-fast charging points capable of charging most electric vehicles from 0% to 80% in about 20 minutes. This complex is the largest in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey region and the sixth-largest ultra-fast electric vehicle charging complex in the world, marking a strategic step in supporting Adnoc Distribution's ambitious plan to develop a world-class electric vehicle charging infrastructure on the UAE's expressways. Guided by this ambitious vision, Adnoc Distribution plans to open 20 ultra-fast electric vehicle charging complexes by the end of 2027, with 15 expected to be operational by the end of 2026 on major national highways. This will enable easy long-distance travel for electric vehicles and support the nation's goals in transitioning to smart and sustainable mobility. On this occasion, the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, Engineer Sharif Al Olama, stated: "The launch of Adnoc Distribution's ultra-fast electric vehicle charging complex is a significant step in implementing the national policy for electric vehicles and enhancing our vision for sustainable mobility at the national level. This complex is distinguished by its strategic location on the Emirates Road (E11), one of the most vital arteries connecting the country's emirates, providing comprehensive services for road users and inter-city travelers." He added that by uniting efforts to expand the high-speed charging network, we are working to reduce energy consumption in the transport sector and support the transformative 'Global EV Market' project, which aims to raise the share of electric vehicles to 50% of the total vehicles in the country by 2050, in addition to accelerating the shift towards a green transport system, which consolidates the UAE's leadership in smart and eco-friendly transport. The CEO of Adnoc Distribution, Engineer Badr Saeed Al Lamki, stated that since its establishment in 1973, Adnoc Distribution has been at the heart of the transport sector in the UAE, and today we are reinforcing our leadership with a qualitative step towards the future by launching the country's largest ultra-fast electric vehicle charging complex. Located at a strategic point on one of the most important roads in the UAE, it becomes the first destination of the 'The Hub by Adnoc' concept, designed specifically to meet the needs of inter-city travelers. With the growing adoption of electric vehicles, we are redefining standards of comfort and reliability to ensure a smooth and safe mobility experience across the country, supported by the leading (E2GO) network." The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has set an ambitious goal to increase the percentage of electric vehicles to 50% of the total vehicles on the country's roads by 2050, in line with the national sustainability orientations. In this context, Adnoc Distribution continues to accelerate the pace of achieving this vision through the (E2GO) network, which is one of the largest operators of electric vehicle charging points in the country, currently comprising over 400 charging points, with an expansion plan to reach 750 by 2028. The launch of the electric vehicle charging complex is a significant step, coinciding with the opening of the first destination of the 'The Hub by Adnoc' concept, designed specifically to meet the needs of inter-city travelers. With an area three times larger than traditional service stations, the 'The Hub by Adnoc' concept combines fueling, electric vehicle charging, and car care services, along with lifestyle options, offering an integrated destination that blends comfort with a premium experience. The new location on the Emirates Road (E11) focuses on serving travelers, as it is the first of its kind to include a co-working space, providing clients with a comfortable and practical environment to work and connect while traveling between the two largest cities in the UAE. This concept forms a cornerstone of Adnoc Distribution's strategy to redefine roadside retail and offer future-ready journeys that cater to everyone's needs. Adnoc Distribution continues to invest in innovative mobility solutions to meet the growing demand by designing an expansion plan for expressway centers and future projects to meet current needs and ensure future growth in line with the country's goals for the transition to electric vehicles. With a network of over 560 locations across the UAE, Adnoc Distribution holds a leading position that enables it to expand the electric vehicle charging infrastructure efficiently and sustainably.
