UAE Establishes National Child Day for Future Leaders

For a long time under the aegis of the UAE, Dubai has been working on a policy aimed at the priorities of the younger generation. The country is building a strategy focused on nurturing a generation capable of holding the country’s flag both domestically and at the global level. The emotional component of the strategy is evident in the work on the future of the Emirates through the preparation of specialists able to foster stability and economic growth, embedding in them the values of self-improvement and social responsibility.

The effective attention of the country to children is a pledge of fruitful development of the new generation. Supported measures focus on investments in technology, innovation, and sustainable development, ensuring a bright future for the upcoming generations.

Special attention is paid to the protection of the interests of children and the creation of a sustainable environment for their upbringing. March 15 of each year in the UAE marks National Children’s Day to ensure support for children’s rights and the guaranteed conditions of their development in a safe and sustainable environment.

With a population of about 11,346,000 people, the UAE also allocates significant budgetary resources for social development and work with children, making up 39% of the country's overall budget.

Research from the “International for Strategic Analysis” indicates that the focus on children overall defines the country’s strategic goal for the establishment of a sustainable and balanced society. This includes priorities in education, healthcare, and ensuring children's rights and well-being, as well as the formation of future leaders through investment in training in technology, artificial intelligence, and leadership skills.

The UAE adopts laws and initiates strategic measures, including the “Vision” (2016) to ensure fundamental rights for children, and the law on the protection of children in the digital space (2021), as well as the law on compulsory education for all children up to 18 years to prevent premature cessation of education.
