Italian cyclist Elisa Longo Borghini stated that her team, UAE Team ADQ, delivered a strong performance in the first two stages of the UAE Tour Women. Despite challenging weather conditions, particularly the wind that affected the race dynamics, it was not sufficient to cause decisive splits in the main peloton.

The defending champion, in her comments on the sidelines of the current tour, noted that the first day of racing was 'busy and difficult' due to the wind. She explained that the headwind made the pace high but limited the teams' ability to break up the bunch.

'The team felt good overall and we managed to keep things under control,' Borghini added.
