UAE Coach Calls for Increased Support for Local Trainers

Mohammed Obaid Al-Khadeem, coach of the reserve team (U-23) at Dibba Football Club, stated that the current monthly support of 6,000 dirhams provided by the Football Association to local coaches is no longer sufficient. He emphasized that this amount has remained unchanged for approximately 15 years, despite significant increases in the cost of living.

"I hope the Federation reviews the support value to help local coaches maintain stability and continue their work without undue pressure," Al-Khadeem told Emirates Al-Youm.

He highlighted that patience, sacrifice, and determination are essential for success in the coaching profession. The beginning of a coaching career demands intensive work and a willingness to accept modest salaries to gain experience.

"If the priority is quick financial gain rather than gradual professional development, the coach's future will be uncertain," he added.

Al-Khadeem also discussed his experience with the first team during the 2018–2019 season and expressed gratitude to the club's management for their continued support. His achievements include leading the reserve team to third place in the 2020–2021 season and winning the U-21 championship in 2023–2024.
