AccessAbilities Expo 2023: Empowering People of Determination

As the first and largest event of its kind in the Middle East, the AccessAbilities exhibition serves as a significant platform for manufacturers and distributors of adaptive products and presents advancements in technologies and rehabilitation initiatives for people with disabilities.

More than 4500 global adaptive technologies will be presented at the AccessAbilities exhibition, structured to support people with limited mobility, visual, hearing, intellectual disabilities, and autism. According to statistics and forecasts from the World Health Organization, the increase in this demographic is attributed to various factors, such as aging, prevalence of diseases, wars, and noncommunicable diseases.

In the region of the Middle East, where the number of people with disabilities exceeds 50 million, work continues to improve their lives through the inclusion of advanced technologies and innovative rehabilitation programs to enhance independence and provide higher quality of life.

The AccessAbilities exhibition, held annually in Dubai, helps in their empowerment, paying attention to their needs, and contributes to the realization of a larger vision of the UAE regarding ensuring accessibility and quality of life for this part of society. The initiative of the Arab world's economy aims to become a global leader in supporting and empowering people with disabilities through the support of government structures and enhancing the private sector's capacity to provide high-quality services for this segment of society and visitors from around the world with disabilities.

The AccessAbilities Expo (AAE) is set to take place from October 6 to October 8, 2023, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) over a space of 12,000 square meters in halls 6, 7, and 8. During the three days of the exhibition, 270 participants, brands, and rehabilitation centers will be represented.

Quote from Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed: "We are committed to supporting people with disabilities and improving the UAE's reputation as a global leader in enhancing their quality of life."

The World Health Organization predicts that by 2050 about two billion people will need at least one adaptive product. Many elderly people may need two or more adaptive products by 2030.

Everyday life, work, and rehabilitation will become more effective this year for people with disabilities, whose number in the world currently stands at 1.3 billion and is projected to rise to two billion by 2050.
