Rooney had attended Everton's match against Manchester United and was sitting in the stands with his youngest son, witnessing the game's only goal scored by newcomer Ciceko. However, he was also present for Newcastle's win due to his contract with the network to analyze Champions League matches. The presenter commented: "I'm in socks because I chose to wear heels".
