Former Chelsea captain John Terry has admitted to feeling angry after the club's owners overlooked him for the assistant coach position to interim first-team manager Calum MacFarlane following the departure of Italian coach Enzo Maresca. MacFarlane took charge of the team and delivered an impressive performance, drawing 1-1 away against Manchester City and its manager Guardiola. Terry commented: "I felt that I deserved to be with the staff. People have the right to make their own decisions". Terry currently works as a consultant at the club's academy and has worked with MacFarlane coaching the under-18 and under-21 teams. However, unlike MacFarlane, he was not promoted. Terry added: "I wasn't upset, I was angry because I was clearly a contributor to the under-21 group that was promoted to the first team's coaching staff".
